No booty? Or no junk in that trunk?? Forget about it!!! I found something funny, but cool today. It’s called “The Bikini” - A bra for you butt. No lie. Check the article out here. I copied the pic for those of you who don’t believe me. It lifts a little of the junk you do have and turns it into this quality piece of beef round. Ha! Hey, whatever helps. Sorry for about my rotfl, but it tickles “my fancy”. :p

What’s A Hair Smoothie???

10 May 2008 In: Categories, Hair Care

Sounds almost as interesting as bubblegum lip gloss and I LOVE my bubblegum lip gloss next to my ponytail holder (both are on my beauty survival list). So what’s this hair smoothie about? It’s definitely not a drink, it’s a hair moisturizer created by the lovely people over at Carol’s Daughter.

I went to their site to see what this “hair smoothie” is all about and what it does hair. This product is said to help condition hair that is tangle, dull and hair packing. I just calls it a moisturizer with a twist. Love the name by the way. The official name of this product is “Khoret Amen Hair Smoothie”. It’s not out yet, but it’s on it’s way. Stay informed. :)

My “No Bppr” Diet - Hey, It Worked For Me!

4 May 2008 In: Personal Health

I call it the “No BPPR” (sounds like “No Beeper”) diet. This diet is simple and it’s easy enough to follow if you can let the BREAD - POTATOES - PASTA and RICE go. What I did was eliminate certain carbohydrates since they are the type of foods to pack on the pounds and fat. I didn’t take all carbs out, but the ones I did eliminate are what I call the culprits that cause bad eating habits. After the pounds and fat rolls off one can go back to consuming these types of carbs — in moderation. Honestly, after you have totally given these up you no longer crave them.

When attempting any diet regiment, it takes a lot of discipline to say no to what you can’t have. What I did/do (it’s been six months since I’ve had my 2nd baby - so I’m back on this bandwagon) is to put a picture of someone who I think has an incredible body and one who has a body size that you can come close to achieving. For example, I have a picture of singer, Amerie and a picture of actor, Drew Barrymore on my refrigerator and kitchen cupboards where there is food. Amerie, I know I can never become physically but she keeps me motivated to not eat what I’m not supposed to have and then Drew Barrymore who I know has struggled with weight in the past and is currently keeping it off gives me the support to keep going on. Dieting is very well psychological as well as a physical thing.

As for eating out? Salads! That should be the automatic first choice. You can have some grilled chicken on top or tuna, beans, bacon bits, cheese…whatever. Every fast food joint has a good salad and if they don’t, then you and your family should not be eating there. The way your family eats? You should try to adjust the way they eat so that it makes it easier on how you eat. Instead of buying Chips Ahoy! cookies, buy them Fat free Chips Ahoy! cookies, that way you can have two for a snack maybe twice a day.

Still hungry? Well, you should be because you have other food groups to take from. You make the choice. You can’t go wrong with fruits, veggies, cheese, yogurt, etc. Research a little more and you’ll be surprised at to what other foods are on those lists.

1. Breads, Rice, Pasta Potatoes Cereal
2. Fats, Oils & Sweets
3. Fruits
4. Meat, Poultry, Fish, Beans, Eggs, Nuts
5. Milk, Yogurt & Cheese
6. Vegetables

Make up your own eating plan. I do. I don’t use anybody elses that’s for sure. I know that if I make my own meal plan that I won’t be starving to death or feel like I’m starving to death. Here is what I started with and anyone can…and this is basic daily setup so start from here and you fill in your food choices:

Breakfast (between 7-9am)

Light After Breakfast Snack (between 9-10am)

Lunch (between 10:30am -1pm)

Light After Lunch Snack (between 1pm-4pm)

Dinner (between 4-6pm)

Light after Dinner Snack (between 6-10pm)

Notes: The snack should be light and not full meals and you can eat these throughout the allotted time so you don’t have to eat them all at once. Take it easy. This keep the hunger away.

The full meals should be served in a 10 inch plate or less. If it can’t all fit on that plate then you don’t eat it.

Water!!! Water is a gut filler so drink, drink, drink. You also have the option of adding lemon or crystal light to your water for some taste if you’re like me. You can also drink diet Snapple which has 0 calories. That’s right. Zero! If you have to drink whatever you like and you don’t like my previous selections then go ahead and drink, but remember to add in your waters and ELIMINATE THE SODAS. Even DIET SODAS. No soda! If you don’t gain weight off of anything else…it will be the soda. A cold Pepsi is delicious, but I know that if I drink it, that I have blew my regiment for the day and it’s simply just not worth it.

Sounds like the average “no carb diet”?  Well, not quite.  I’ve only eliminated four of them.  This diet isn’t for everyone so keep that in mind. Also check with your physician before attempting any diet. I doubt that any physician will stop you from implementing the No Bppr diet into your life.

Good luck!

Giorgio Armani:

I love things that age well - things that don't date, that stand the test of time and that become living examples of the absolute best.

Coco Chanel:

A woman has the age she deserves.

Pablo Picasso:

It takes a long time to become young.

Christian Dior:

Women are most fascinating between the ages of 35 and 40 after they have won a few races and know how to pace themselves. Since few women ever pass 40, maximum fascination can continue indefinitely.

Pope Paul VI:

In youth the days are short and the years are long. In old age the years are short and day's long.

Ralph Lauren:

It's the kind of clothes that mothers and daughters can wear, in terms of concept... It's not about age. It's about taste, and it's about lifestyle. I believe women of all ages can wear anything.

Karl Lagerfeld:

Beauty is also submitted to the taste of time, so a beautiful woman from the Belle Epoch is not exactly the perfect beauty of today, so beauty is something that changes with time.

Elizabeth Arden:

I'm not interested in age. People who tell me their age are silly. You're as old as you feel.

Madeleine L'Engle:

The great thing about getting older is that you don't lose all the other ages you've been.

Satchel Paige:

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?

Princess Diana:

Life is just a journey.
